Atletico Madrid Dispatches Team Doctor to Korea for Lee Kang-in's Medical Check

Spanish football club Atletico Madrid is reportedly taking a significant step towards signing South Korean player Lee Kang-in, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Reports indicate that Atletico Madrid has dispatched a team doctor to South Korea specifically to conduct medical examinations on the young midfielder.

This medical assessment is typically viewed as one of the final stages in the transfer process for professional football players. The presence of Atletico Madrid's medical personnel in South Korea strongly suggests that negotiations are progressing positively.

Dr. Jose Maria Villalón, who has been with Atletico Madrid since the 1995-1996 season and currently serves as the club's head of medical services, was reportedly seen in Seoul. A post on social media from an education center in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, mentioned Dr. Villalón's visit for Lee Kang-in's medical check-up and included a photo of him giving a lecture.

Lee Kang-in is believed to be in South Korea following his return from the 2026 North and Central America World Cup qualifiers. He was recently spotted resting in Jeju Island, with photos shared on online communities.
