Nicolò Gatta has shared a harrowing personal account of a home invasion in 2019, an incident that deeply affected his family and highlights the fine line between justice and vigilantism. The story emerged following the conviction of a jeweler who killed two robbers.

On November 20, 2019, Nicolò's father, Giuseppe Gatta, a retired jeweler, was attacked in his home during what appeared to be a burglary. The assault was violent, leaving the elder Gatta seriously wounded with seven stab wounds. In a moment of survival instinct and reaction to the brutal attack, Giuseppe retrieved a hidden pistol and pursued his assailants outside the home.

Nicolò recounted how he intervened, taking the gun from his father's hands and moving it away from the scene. He stayed with his father, providing support until emergency services arrived. While acknowledging the immense trauma and the subsequent legal issue of his father's illegal weapon possession, Nicolò believes his intervention was the right decision, though not an easy one.
