Aussie athletes shine at Diamond League with trio of medals in Poland

Commonwealth Games champions Eleanor Patterson and Rose Davies, along with double silver medallist Jessica Hull, continued Australia's strong showing on the Diamond League circuit by securing medals at the Silesia meet in Chorzów, Poland.

Patterson, the high jump champion, claimed third place, while Davies, who won double gold in Glasgow, earned bronze in the 5,000m. Hull ran her fastest race of the year to finish runner-up in the 1,500m.

In the women's high jump, Patterson again defeated teammate Nicola Olyslagers, securing third place behind Ukrainian rivals Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Iryna Gerashchenko. However, there was disappointment for sprinter Lachlan Kennedy, who failed to make the 100m final after his Australian-record run in Glasgow. "I didn't come out as well as I would've liked but I'm just trying to shake the rust off a bit. I'll get back into some training and better form, I'm happy," Kennedy commented.
