Australia is helping to strengthen leadership across the transport sector in Papua New Guinea.

An Australian Government-supported program has successfully trained 31 officials from Papua New Guinea's transport sector, enhancing their leadership and management capabilities. The graduates, representing key agencies such as the National Airports Corporation, Accident Investigation Commission, Civil Aviation Safety Authority, and the Department of Transport, received certificates upon completion of the rigorous training.

The comprehensive program spanned four learning blocks, focusing on critical areas essential for effective leadership in the transport industry. Participants delved into topics including ethical leadership, equipping them to make principled decisions, and risk management, providing them with tools to navigate potential challenges within their respective fields.

Furthermore, the training emphasized the importance of strong communication skills, enabling officials to collaborate more effectively and convey information clearly.
