Avengers: Doomsday trailer reveals Doctor Doom, X-Men and Fantastic Four

Marvel Studios has unveiled the first trailer for "Avengers: Doomsday," the highly anticipated film set to hit cinemas on December 18, 2026. Directed by the Russo brothers, who also helmed "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame," the trailer promises a grand reunion of familiar faces from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The footage teases the long-awaited debut of Doctor Doom, a major villain in the Marvel comic universe. It also showcases appearances by the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, further expanding the MCU's roster. Fans can spot Shang-Chi, played by Simu Liu, engaging in combat with Gambit, portrayed by Channing Tatum. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen reprise their iconic roles as Professor Xavier and Magneto, respectively.

Returning Avengers include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, who appears to narrate the trailer, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Falcon/Captain America, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. The Fantastic Four, making their MCU debut after "The Fantastic Four: First Steps," are seen interacting with Black Panther (Letitia Wright) and M'Baku (Winston Duke). Tom Hiddleston also returns as Loki, seen with a Time Variance Authority (TVA) card.

Notably absent from the trailer are Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. The reasons for their omission remain unclear, with speculation that further details might emerge after the release of "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" on July 30.
