Avianca Resumes Flights to Bogotá from Caracas, Launches Service from Maracaibo

Avianca, a member of Grupo Abra, is significantly boosting its connectivity between Venezuela and Colombia. The airline has announced the reactivation of key flight services, including the resumption of routes from Caracas to Bogotá starting September 1. This move is part of a broader effort to strengthen regional air travel.

Adding to its Venezuelan network, Avianca also inaugurated a new direct route from Maracaibo to Bogotá on August 28. This new service complements the existing daily flights already operating between Valencia and Bogotá. Collectively, these operations will provide over 7,500 seats weekly between the two South American nations.

David Alemán, Director of Sales for South America and Venezuela at Avianca, emphasized the airline's commitment to expanding its network. "In Avianca, we continue to strengthen our network to offer more connectivity options to our clients and reactivate air bridges that are strategic for the economy, business, and tourism in the region," Alemán stated. He highlighted the airline's dedication to consolidating its presence in Venezuela, offering travelers more alternatives to Colombia and over 80 destinations across the Americas and Europe.

Avianca also noted its role in humanitarian efforts following earthquakes in Venezuela on June 24. The airline facilitated humanitarian operations, transporting nearly 150 tons of aid. Additionally, its "Banco de Millas" program enabled the movement of over 134 medical professionals and rescuers from 14 organizations, supported by donations of over 18 million miles from Lifemiles members, which Avianca matched.
