Avianca strengthens Colombia-Venezuela links with new routes and more flights

Avianca is rebuilding its air links between Colombia and Venezuela with a revived Caracas-Bogotá service, a new direct route from Maracaibo and continued daily flights from Valencia.

The airline resumed Bogotá-Caracas operations on Sept. 1 after reviewing operating and security conditions with the relevant authorities. Flight AV122 leaves Bogotá daily at 11:20 p.m. and arrives in Caracas at 2:25 a.m. The return flight, AV123, began operating on Sept. 2, departing Caracas at 4 a.m. and landing in Bogotá at 5 a.m.

Avianca inaugurated its daily Bogotá-Maracaibo-Bogotá route on Aug. 28. Flight AV94 leaves Bogotá at 3:05 p.m. and reaches Maracaibo at 5:40 p.m. The return flight, AV95, departs at 7 p.m. and lands in Bogotá at 7:25 p.m.

Together with the daily Valencia-Bogotá service, the routes will provide more than 7,500 seats a week between the two countries. All flights will use Airbus A320 aircraft with capacity for 180 passengers. Avianca said the restored links support travel for tourism, business and international connections.

Bogotá also serves as a transfer point into Avianca’s wider network of more than 80 destinations in the Americas and Europe. “We continue strengthening our network to offer more connectivity options to our customers and reactivate air bridges that are strategic for the region’s economy, business and tourism,” said David Alemán, the airline’s sales director for South America and Venezuela. Avianca currently operates more than 155 routes and over 700 daily flights with a fleet of 140 Airbus A320 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
