President Donald Trump has asserted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will face no arrest during his visit to the United States. Trump made the declaration on his social media platform, Truth Social, stating emphatically, "Benjamin Netanyahu will not be arrested in the United States of America in any form, in any way."

The statement comes after New York City's new mayor, Zohran Mamdani, indicated that the city's legal department was actively assessing the feasibility of an arrest. In a recent interview, Mamdani stated, "I think Prime Minister Netanyahu should be sent to The Hague. He is a war criminal accused by the International Criminal Court."

Netanyahu is currently subject to an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague. The ICC issued the warrant in 2024, citing alleged war crimes committed during the conflict in Gaza. Israel, however, does not recognize the ICC's jurisdiction and denies the accusations.

Trump's post did not directly mention Mamdani's comments. He also took the opportunity to praise Israel's involvement and assistance in its war with Iran. Traditionally, Netanyahu visits New York annually in September to attend the United Nations General Assembly's gathering of world leaders.
