Aylín Mujica's son refused hospital treatment before flight to Barbados

Cuban actress and host Aylín Mujica has broken her silence following the death of her son, Mauro Menéndez, on July 17. Speaking on Telemundo's "La mesa caliente," Mujica shared intimate details of her son's final days, emphasizing her desire to dispel rumors and offer support to grieving mothers.

I wasn't ready to give an interview, but if it's with you (Verónica), it's not going to be an interview, it's going to be a telling, clarifying, narrating, giving strength to all the mothers who have gone through this, which is the most terrible thing that can happen, not to a woman, but to a human being and to tell things as they are, so that there are no longer so many words that were out of place or events that did not happen and to clarify.

Mujica clarified that her son's death was due to a heart attack brought on by pneumonia. She explained that while she was in Colombia filming "Top Chef VIP," Mauro traveled to Miami to visit his grandmother and siblings. He was reportedly suffering from a severe cold, and despite his mother's urging to cancel his work trip to Barbados, he resisted.

My mother was here with him and, suddenly, he got sick, with a very strong cold, I called him on the phone to have ginger shots made for him, I told him 'you always have this cold, this cough', 'no mom, I'm fine', my mother takes care of him, (but she tells me), 'he has a very strong cold, but he doesn't want to listen to me, he has to go to Barbados, we are telling him to stay'.

Tragically, Mauro's condition worsened, prompting his uncle to take him to a nearby clinic. However, upon arrival at the hospital, Mauro refused to be admitted, insisting instead on taking his scheduled flight. Mujica expressed her pain but also her resolve to share the truth and provide a message of strength to others enduring similar loss.
