Azizi Florence: A Homecoming to Sharjah

For Mirwais Azizi, the planned launch of Azizi Florence in Sharjah is tied to the place where his family’s life in the United Arab Emirates began.

Azizi Developments is preparing to pre-launch the Dh30 billion real estate masterplan later this month. The project will comprise 1,130 villas, more than 6,000 townhouses and 3,500 apartments.

Azizi recalled visiting Sharjah in 1995 after a successful business transaction with a UAE company. During a five-day visit, his hosts introduced him to all seven emirates and invited him to consider making the country his home. By the end of the trip, he said, he had registered a business and secured a small office.

Three months later, Azizi moved his family into a villa in Sharjah. He lived there for four or five years before relocating to Dubai, but said he still treasured the early period, including his children’s school-bus mornings and evening walks along the Al Buhaira Corniche.

He described those memories as the foundation of a lasting bond with Sharjah. After the success of the company’s real estate ventures in Dubai, the new project represents what he called a homecoming and the beginning of another chapter in the emirate.
