Conditions are particularly dire in southern B.C., where extensive dry fuels create a highly flammable environment. "Many areas are extremely dry," stated Bryce Moreira, an incident commander with the BC Wildfire Service, emphasizing the heightened danger. The approaching cold front, initially bringing southwest winds before shifting northwest, presents a complex challenge for containment efforts.

Residents near Green Lake, located northeast of Clinton, are on high alert. An evacuation order is considered a "likely scenario" in the coming days as the Pear Lake wildfire, which has already consumed 732 square kilometers, moves towards their community. The Pear Lake fire is one of four "wildfires of note" currently threatening communities or drawing significant attention in the province. Meanwhile, the village of Clinton remains without power, and Mayor Roland Stanke has indicated there is no definite timeline for residents to return as crews continue to battle flare-ups.
