Baby girl born in driveway of Queensland police station

A baby girl entered the world in an unexpected location: the driveway of a police station in Browns Plains, Queensland. Officers were returning to the station just after midnight when they were flagged down by a man whose heavily pregnant partner was in the late stages of labor in their car.

The couple had been en route to Logan Hospital but realized they wouldn't make it in time. They pulled over to the police station's driveway, where officers quickly responded. Constable Jenna Ziviani, guided by an ambulance officer via phone, assisted the mother in delivering the baby safely in the back seat of the car.

"It was super special," Constable Ziviani commented on the experience. She praised the calm guidance provided by the emergency operator during the delivery. Paramedics arrived shortly after the birth and transported the family to the hospital.

The operator on the phone was amazing too. They talk you through it so calmly.

Both the newborn girl and her mother are reported to be happy, healthy, and recovering at home. Senior Sergeant Aleisha Young, who was on duty during the event, described it as a remarkable moment, noting it was the first time in her 27-year career she had been present for a birth while on shift.
