Bademli Hosts Vibrant Cherry and Fruit Sapling Festival

The Bademli 55th Cherry and 22nd Fruit Sapling Festival took place in İzmir, Turkey, drawing a large crowd and significant local participation. Organized by the Ödemiş Municipality with support from the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, the event celebrated the region's agricultural heritage and its role as a key center for fruit and sapling production.

The festival in Bademli, one of the most important centers for fruit and fruit sapling production in our country, has become a tradition.

Attendees included İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Görkem Çolak, Ödemiş Mayor Mustafa Turan, political party representatives, council members, and local residents. The festival commenced with a performance by the Ödemiş Municipal Band, followed by a moment of silence and the national anthem.

Bademli Neighborhood Headman Sema Emine Özbaş highlighted the festival's tradition and its importance to the local economy. She thanked the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay and Ödemiş Mayor Mustafa Turan for their support in making the event a success. Mayor Turan emphasized the festival's role beyond mere entertainment, noting its function in showcasing producers' labor, strengthening solidarity, and contributing to local development.

Mayor Turan also addressed recent challenges, pledging support for fruit producers affected by a recent hailstorm in the Aydın Mountains. "We are mobilizing all our resources for the work that makes life easier in our 99 neighborhoods," he stated. "We are working for the producer to thrive and be happy in the place where they were born." Deputy Mayor Çolak echoed these sentiments, affirming the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality's commitment to supporting agricultural production and rural development across İzmir.
