Bahrain Says Iran Targeted Air Navigation Systems, Traffic Unaffected

Bahrain's aviation authority stated that Iranian drones targeted its civil air navigation systems on Monday, but confirmed that air traffic operations were unaffected. The announcement followed an earlier statement from Bahrain's military that it had intercepted and destroyed a number of Iranian aerial attacks.

As a result of a hostile Iranian act of aggression against the Kingdom of Bahrain, civil air navigation systems... were targeted by hostile drones.

The Bahraini Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the repeated Iranian attacks, calling them a "blatant violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty, security, and stability." The ministry emphasized that targeting civilian air navigation systems poses a "serious threat to the safety of international civil aviation, as well as the lives of passengers and flight crews." It further stated that such actions violate international aviation conventions and customs.

However, air navigation operations remained unaffected.

Kuwait's military also reported confronting hostile missile and drone attacks on Monday, blaming Iran. Both Bahrain and Kuwait have experienced attacks from Iran since hostilities resumed this month. Bahrain has accused Iran of targeting civilians, while Kuwait has reported attacks on its water, electricity, and oil facilities.
