Baiaram Becomes Superliga's Most Valuable Player, Olaru's Value Drops

Ștefan Baiaram of Universitatea Craiova now leads the Romanian Superliga in player value, a shift attributed to his team's recent championship win. Baiaram's market value rose by 500,000 euros to 5 million euros on Transfermarkt, overtaking Darius Olaru of FCSB.

Olaru, who had held the top spot for three years, saw his value decrease by 500,000 euros to 4.5 million euros. His value has fallen sharply from 7.5 million euros a year ago, a decline partly blamed on FCSB owner Gigi Becali's decision not to sell him when offers were available. Olaru now shares the second-highest value with teammate Daniel Bîrligea, whose value remained stable at 4.5 million euros.

Other players experienced significant value changes. FCSB goalkeeper Ștefan Târnovanu lost 800,000 euros, now valued at 3 million euros, reflecting his club's inconsistent performance. Rapid București's Alexandru Dobre also saw a 200,000 euro decrease, settling at 3 million euros after his team missed the playoffs. In contrast, Dinamo's captain Cătălin Cîrjan reached a career-high valuation of 3 million euros, gaining 500,000 euros since December, partly due to his team's unexpected strong performance. CFR Cluj players Meriton Korenica and Andrei Cordea also benefited from their team's successful second half of the season, with Korenica maintaining a 3 million euro valuation and Cordea seeing an increase.
