Bail hearing delayed again for man accused in U.S. Consulate bomb threat

A bail hearing for a Halifax man accused of making a bomb threat against the U.S. Consulate was postponed for a third time on Friday. Ali Assakereh, a resident of Halifax, faces charges of uttering threats and public mischief.

Police allege Assakereh parked his vehicle near the consulate, which contained a propane tank along with flammable liquids. The 54-year-old suspect, originally from Iran, appeared at the provincial courthouse in Halifax but remained in a cell during the brief hearing.
