Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti announced on Sunday that a civil award will be conferred upon Abdul Razzaq Tarakai, an employee at Quetta's Civil Hospital, for his courageous act of assisting a female doctor who was a victim of an acid attack.

The incident occurred on Saturday when Dr. Mahnoor Nisar was seriously injured at the hospital. Police reported that a facility employee allegedly threw acid on her, causing severe burns to her face, chest, legs, and other body parts. CCTV footage captured Tarakai rushing to Dr. Nisar's aid, covering her with his jacket as she fled the room immediately after the attack.
