Balochistan home minister unhurt as convoy comes under attack in Mastung

An armed attack targeted the convoy of Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove in Mastung, Pakistan, on Friday, resulting in injuries to six individuals, including three police personnel. The minister himself was unharmed during the incident as his convoy reached the Khad Kocha area while en route to Quetta from Kalat.

Senior police officials confirmed the attack and the number of injured. Nawab Raisani Memorial Hospital reported that six individuals were brought in, with two in serious condition. Two of the injured were referred to Quetta for further treatment.

Following the attack, security forces quickly cordoned off the vicinity and launched a search operation to apprehend those responsible. Langove, a member of the Balochistan Awami Party, was sworn in as the provincial home minister in March. He had previously held the same position, but his appointment was later nullified after he was de-notified on August 21, 2024.
