Balykchy, Bokonbaevo, Karakol Highway: Asphalt Concrete Laid on 125 Kilometers

Significant progress has been made on the reconstruction of the Balykchy-Bokonbaevo-Karakol highway in Kyrgyzstan, with the first layer of asphalt concrete now laid on 125.62 kilometers of the route. This milestone represents 89% of the total planned length for this phase of the project, according to the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The extensive roadwork is being carried out by a large team, comprising five general contractors and more than ten subcontracting companies. A workforce of 978 individuals and 402 pieces of specialized machinery are currently engaged in the construction efforts. Supporting the project are seven asphalt concrete plants and 13 stone-crushing plants, ensuring a steady supply of materials.

Talantbek Soltobaev, the head of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, recently inspected the construction site. During his visit, he emphasized the importance of adhering to the established deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality throughout the project. The total length of the section undergoing reconstruction is 141 kilometers.

The Balykchy-Bokonbaevo-Karakol highway is a crucial transportation artery, and its modernization is expected to improve connectivity and facilitate economic activity in the region. The project's scale and the number of entities involved highlight the significant investment and effort being directed towards upgrading Kyrgyzstan's infrastructure.
