Bandung Mayor M. Farhan Hospitalized After Sudden Health Decline

Bandung Mayor M. Farhan was rushed to the hospital Friday afternoon after his health suddenly deteriorated while at the city hall. Officials confirmed his condition declined in the afternoon after he had been at the city hall since midday. The mayor was scheduled to attend a plenary meeting at the Bandung City DPRD but was unable to due to his illness.

Henryco Arie Sapiie, head of the Bandung City Communication and Informatics Office, stated that Farhan is currently under medical care. "He is still undergoing treatment by the medical team. We are awaiting the ongoing medical process and will provide further information once there are developments," Henryco said Friday in Bandung, as quoted by Antara.

Before feeling unwell, Farhan had received guests in his office. He was intended to attend a second plenary session but had to be taken to the hospital for medical attention. Henryco added that medical teams are still conducting examinations, and it is uncertain whether Farhan will be hospitalized or allowed to rest at home.

Despite the mayor's condition, city officials assured that government operations and public services continue normally. They urged the public to pray for Farhan's swift recovery and return to his duties. The Bandung City government will release further official information from the medical team.
