Bangladesh border guards foil India's attempt to push four people across

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) successfully thwarted an alleged attempt by India's Border Security Force (BSF) to push four individuals into Bangladesh early this morning. The incident occurred near the Buripota border post in the Khalpara area of Meherpur.

Lt Col Md Nazmul Hasan, commanding officer of Chuadanga Battalion-6 BGB, confirmed the foiled push attempt. "An attempt to push four people into Bangladesh through the Meherpur border was foiled early this morning. BGB members are maintaining a strict position along the border to prevent any untoward situation," he stated. Locals reported seeing the four individuals roaming beyond the zero line on the Indian side of the border, prompting them to alert the BGB.

The group, comprising one man and three women, is now stranded in the no-man's land situated between international border pillars 15 and 16, on the Bangladesh side of the barbed-wire fence. BGB personnel, supported by local villagers, have established a vigilant presence in the vicinity to prevent any further attempts to force their entry into Bangladesh.
