Barau names Kano North APC campaign council

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has unveiled the All Progressives Congress campaign council for Kano North ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections.

Barau, who represents Kano North in the Senate, directed the council to take the party’s campaign to the grassroots through house-to-house mobilisation across the senatorial district. His media adviser, Ismail Mudashir, announced the appointments in a statement issued on Saturday.

The council will be led by Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi, managing director of the Hadeja Jama’are River Basin Development Authority and a former secretary to the Kano State Government. The deputy chairman is Ali Haruna Makoda, the state commissioner for education. Former Surveyor General of the Federation Nadu Yahaya will serve as secretary, while former House of Representatives member Farouk Lawan was named vice chairman I.

Saidu Garba Getso and Badamasi Ayuba were appointed vice chairmen II and III. Grassroots mobiliser Yusuf Tumfafi will serve as director-general. The council also includes deputy secretaries and deputy directors-general, as well as chairmen and co-chairmen for the 13 local government areas in Kano North.

Barau urged the council to ensure that the APC’s message reached voters throughout the district. He highlighted what he called the administration’s achievements across critical sectors and said those results should form the basis of the party’s campaign. The council was instructed to communicate that record directly to constituents and seek strong support for APC candidates.
