Barcelona's Lamine Yamal named LaLiga's best player for 2025-2026 season

Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has been honored as the best player in LaLiga for the 2025-2026 season. The young talent was instrumental in Barcelona's league title victory, contributing an impressive 16 goals and 11 assists throughout the campaign.

Yamal's prolific scoring also earned him the Zarra Trophy, shared with his Barcelona teammate Ferran Torres, as the league's top Spanish goalscorer. Furthermore, his 11 assists made him the competition's leading assist provider. This recognition is a significant milestone for Yamal, marking his first time receiving such a prestigious individual accolade.

At just 18 years old, the Barcelona academy product succeeds his teammate Raphael Dias ‘Raphinha’ as the LaLiga MVP, who claimed the award last season. This is the third individual LaLiga award for Barcelona this season, following coach Hansi Flick being named best coach for the second consecutive year and Joan García receiving the award for the best save of the championship.

Lamine Yamal is currently with the Spanish national team for the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, which runs from June 11 to July 19. However, his participation in the tournament's opening matches remains uncertain due to ongoing physical issues.
