Barcelona Surpasses €1 Billion in Ordinary Operating Revenue for the First Time

Barcelona has crossed the 1 billion-euro mark in ordinary operating revenue for the first time, reaching the milestone without selling assets or using other exceptional financial measures.

The figure emerged after the club’s board approved its annual financial statements for the 2025-26 season. Barcelona has not yet published the final total, but said ordinary revenue exceeded 1 billion euros while falling short of its budget forecast of 1.075 billion euros.

The distinction matters because Barcelona had reported higher figures in previous years by including so-called financial levers. In 2022-23, for example, the club recorded operating revenue of 1.259 billion euros, but that result also reflected exceptional financial operations. The club has therefore highlighted the latest milestone as a different kind of achievement.

Stadium operations played a major role in the increase, even though Barcelona faced restrictions during its return to the renovated Spotify Camp Nou. The team did not always play at full capacity, and some matches took place at the Johan Cruyff and Olímpic stadiums. After the return to Camp Nou, capacity initially stood at 42,000, below the more than 60,000 seats the club had expected to have available at the start of the season.

Barcelona believes the stadium can generate more revenue once it is fully operational. Stronger sponsorship agreements and record sales of club products through Barça Licensing & Merchandising also contributed to the result.

The club has now completed three consecutive seasons with positive ordinary operating results. In 2024-25, it reported 994 million euros in such revenue and a profit of 2 million euros. Complete financial data will be presented to members before Barcelona’s ordinary general assembly on September 19.
