Bardacık Festival excitement in Güzelbahçe

The Güzelbahçe district in İzmir is preparing to host the 12th Bardacık Festival in its agricultural neighborhood of Payamlı on August 22-23. The festival aims to celebrate and showcase local agricultural products, including bardacık figs, grape clusters, and iced almonds.

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Dr. Zafer Levent Yıldır, accompanied by Güzelbahçe Municipality Deputy Mayor Ayşe Akın, visited Payamlı ahead of the festival. They met with residents and producers, joined by local council members and cooperative representatives. During the visit, Yıldır emphasized the Metropolitan Municipality's commitment to supporting residents through its Agricultural Master Plan, stating that significant data has been collected regarding the challenges faced in Payamlı and other neighborhoods.

"We have collected very serious data about what the problems are," Yıldır stated, pledging continued support within the Metropolitan Municipality's capacity. He expressed his hope for the festival's success and for attendees to be satisfied.

Ayşe Akın extended an invitation to citizens of Güzelbahçe and İzmir to attend the festival. "We are waiting for our fellow citizens from Güzelbahçe and İzmir in Payamlı on August 22-23 to taste the carefully harvested bardacık figs, our grape clusters, and our iced almonds together," she said, also thanking the Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay for his support to the village.

The festival is a key event for the region, highlighting its agricultural richness and fostering community engagement. It serves as a platform for producers to connect with consumers and for local authorities to engage with the community on agricultural development and support.
