Barranquilla and Sabanalarga face extended power outages on August 10 for grid maintenance

Residents in parts of Barranquilla and the municipality of Sabanalarga are advised to prepare for power interruptions on Monday, August 10, 2026. Air-e, the energy company, will carry out programmed maintenance on the electrical infrastructure. The work aims to improve the power grid and ensure service reliability. In Barranquilla, the Santo Domingo neighborhood will experience outages as part of minor improvement works on the network. The maintenance is scheduled to run from 8:05 a.m. to 5:55 p.m. in the area of Carrera 32 with Calle 58 in the city's south. This means the operations could last nearly ten hours, impacting residents and businesses.

Similar interventions will take place in Sabanalarga, in the department of Atlántico. The Bellavista neighborhood will undergo load balancing between 7:50 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with work concentrated around Carrera 6 with Calle 25. The maintenance schedule is for Monday, August 10, though the announcement was made on Sunday, August 9.

Air-e recommended that users adopt energy-saving measures in homes, businesses, and industries, especially considering the conditions associated with the El Niño phenomenon. The company's proactive communication aims to minimize disruption and allow affected parties to plan accordingly.
