Bartender Charged with Murder After Fatal Stabbing in Jamaica

A domestic dispute in St. Catherine, Jamaica, has led to a murder charge against a 25-year-old bartender, Nadisha Montgomery. The charge stems from the fatal stabbing of 24-year-old Imani Richards.

According to reports from the Half-Way Tree police, the incident unfolded around 4:30 am on July 24. Richards was at his home when an argument began with Montgomery. The dispute quickly escalated into a physical confrontation.

During the altercation, Montgomery reportedly left the premises to seek assistance. She then retrieved a knife from the kitchen. As the two re-engaged in a physical confrontation while Montgomery was leaving, the knife was used, resulting in Richards sustaining wounds.

Following the stabbing, Montgomery allegedly discarded the knife and fled the scene. Richards was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Later on the same day, Montgomery surrendered to the police. She was formally charged on Monday, July 27, after a question-and-answer session held the previous day in the presence of her attorney. A court date for Montgomery is currently being finalized.
