Bauchi gov reshuffles cabinet, names new commissioner nominees

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has initiated a cabinet reshuffle, leading to the departure of three commissioners from the State Executive Council. The move is part of an effort to enhance governance and improve service delivery within the state, according to a statement released by the governor's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.

The commissioners affected by the reshuffle include Mohammed Salis Gamawa, formerly of the Ministry of Commerce, Industries and Investment, and Dr. Lawal Rimin Zayam, the immediate past Commissioner for Education, who had been reassigned to the Ministry of Power, Science and Technology. The governor also accepted the resignation of Faruk Mustapha, the former Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties.

As part of the adjustments, the Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Investment, Mohammed Salis Gamawa, and the immediate past Commissioner for Education, who was subsequently reassigned to the Ministry of Power, Science and Technology, Dr Lawal Rimin Zayam, are to exit the State Executive Council with immediate effect. The Governor has also accepted the resignation of the former Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties, Faruk Mustapha.

Governor Mohammed has submitted the names of proposed replacements for these positions, along with nominees for other existing vacancies, to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for the necessary screening and confirmation process. This action is intended to ensure continuity and efficiency in the administration.

The governor expressed his gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their service and contributions to the development of Bauchi State. He wished them success in their future endeavors and reiterated his administration's commitment to fostering a more responsive, efficient, and results-driven government for the benefit of the state's citizens.
