Bayelsa’s new CP assumes office

Ajao Adewale officially assumed his duties as the 39th Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State on Wednesday. He takes over from Iyamah Edebor, who has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).

Adewale brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Prior to his posting in Bayelsa, he served as the Commissioner of Police for Administration at the Force CID Annex in Gombe State. He also previously held the position of Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command in Abuja.

He is a seasoned and highly experienced police officer with proven expertise in police operations, administration, and criminal investigation. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has served in various commands, formations, and units of the Nigeria Police Force in different capacities.

According to a statement issued by the command's spokesperson, SP Musa Muhammad, Adewale is described as a "seasoned and highly experienced police officer with proven expertise in police operations, administration, and criminal investigation." Throughout his career, he has served in various capacities across different commands, formations, and units within the Nigeria Police Force.

The Bayelsa Command, through its spokesperson, appealed to the residents of the state to provide the new commissioner with the necessary support. This cooperation is crucial for Adewale to effectively fulfill his mandate of maintaining peace, law, and order within the state.
