BBGIRLS return with summer single 'BODY WAVE' after 14-month hiatus

The K-pop group BBGIRLS, formerly known as Brave Girls, is set to make their comeback with the release of their new single "BODY WAVE" on July 16. This marks their return to the music scene after a hiatus of one year and two months, aiming to capture the summer season with a track designed to resonate with listeners.

"BODY WAVE" is characterized as a "summer song," blending refreshing tropical synth sounds with an intense moombahton rhythm. The song aims to embody a flexible yet explosive energy, akin to crashing waves. The production reportedly features sensual brass sounds and the members' crisp vocals, enhancing the song's refreshing quality. Member Minyoung played a significant role in the song's creation, participating as a co-producer and lyricist, and even assisting with casting for the music video, infusing the track with the group's distinct color.

This release follows their digital single "Hope" (희망사항), a remake of a classic song, which garnered significant attention for its cheerful and romantic vibe. "BODY WAVE" is anticipated to further highlight BBGIRLS' signature refreshing image, building on the excitement generated by their previous works.

BBGIRLS, originally debuting as Brave Girls in 2011, achieved widespread fame through the viral resurgence of their song "Rollin'" in 2021. After rebranding as BBGIRLS in 2023 with members Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji, and Yuna, the group has continued to showcase their energetic performances. Following Yujeong's departure, the group now operates as a trio. Their previous releases as BBGIRLS include "One More Time" in 2023, which also captured a summer vibe, and "LOVE 2" in early 2025, showcasing a different wintery concept. With "BODY WAVE," they are aiming to reclaim the title of "Summer Queens."
