Beca Rita Cetina 2026: Final payments for May-June cycle distributed

Mexico's Beca Rita Cetina program is nearing the end of its payment cycle for the May-June bimestre, marking the final disbursement for the 2025-2026 academic year. This program, a joint initiative by the National Coordination of Scholarships for the Welfare Benito Juárez (CNBBBJ) and the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP), provides crucial financial support to students in basic education.

The primary goal of the Beca Rita Cetina is to combat school dropout rates attributed to a lack of funding. It offers a bi-monthly economic incentive to children and adolescents attending primary and secondary school. This payment covers the period of May-June, and no further deposits will be made until the start of the new academic cycle, as July and August are considered summer vacation months for students.

According to the official schedule from CNBBBJ, beneficiaries whose last names begin with the letter 'S' received their payments on Thursday, June 11. The final round of disbursements will occur on Friday, June 12, for those whose last names start with the letters 'T,' 'U,' 'V,' 'W,' 'X,' 'Y,' and 'Z.' Payments began on June 1 and will conclude by June 12, 2026.

The program provides 1,900 pesos bi-monthly for families with at least one student enrolled in secondary school. An additional 700 pesos is granted for each subsequent student from the same family registered for the scholarship. The announcement for the 2026-2027 academic year's scholarship call has not yet been released, and interested parties are advised to monitor official SEP and CNBBBJ communications.
