The death of 31-year-old Céline Cremer from Liege, Belgium, in Tasmania was likely the result of "a series of errors and accidents," an Australian coroner has concluded. Cremer went missing in June 2023, with her car discovered at the start of a hiking trail. A massive search operation failed to locate her for months.

Her remains were finally found in late January in the region where she disappeared. Official confirmation came a month later, following DNA testing and dental record analysis. The coroner's investigation suggests Cremer likely continued walking past the end of the trail instead of returning to her car.

The coroner could not definitively confirm if other recovered items, such as a water bottle and plastic bags, belonged to Cremer. "I am not convinced that the discovery of the bottle and bags proves that Ms. Cremer was hiding in that location in June 2023," the report stated.

The report aims to bring a definitive end to the case, as no evidence suggested a third party was involved in Cremer's disappearance and death. The coroner also recommended installing additional information boards at the end of the hiking trail to warn tourists about the challenging conditions in the area.
