Belgrade Ethnographic Museum to Host '15 Years of Vekovnici' Comic Exhibition

Belgrade's Ethnographic Museum is set to unveil "15 Years of Vekovnici," an exhibition celebrating the 15-year journey of an acclaimed comic project. Running from August 8 to September 1, the exhibition serves as a companion to the "Who Was Kraljević Marko?" display.

The "15 Years of Vekovnici" exhibition delves into the evolution of scenarist Marko Stojanović's unique project. Over its 15-year span, the initiative has drawn more than 250 comic artists from Serbia, the wider region, and Europe. The museum highlighted that "Vekovnici" has transcended the boundaries of a typical comic series, becoming a recognized cultural phenomenon.

Inspired by the legend of Kraljević Marko, history, mythology, and fantasy, the "Vekovnici" project has seen its works published in Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, and the Czech Republic. International editions and exhibitions have cemented its significant presence on the European comic scene.

The exhibition will feature original comic pages and illustrations that attest to the project's artistic merit and international success. Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase "Vekovnici" publications, including the latest issues, at the museum's gift shop.
