Belgrade Mayor Refuses to Answer N1 Reporter's Questions

Belgrade Mayor Aleksandar Sapic has continued his practice of refusing to answer questions from N1 reporters, citing the station's alleged misrepresentation and editing of his comments. Sapic stated that he would not respond to their inquiries, drawing parallels to a "love story" that had ended.

Sapic's refusal stems from a perceived pattern of the station fabricating, deceiving, and lying about his statements. He described the relationship as turbulent, indicating that a reconciliation was not possible at this time. This stance has been ongoing for months, as the mayor maintains his decision not to engage with N1 reporters.

The mayor's comments suggest a deep-seated disagreement with N1's reporting methods and a firm resolve to maintain his distance from the outlet. His remarks were made in the context of questions regarding the removal of a regime supporter camp in front of the Serbian presidency building.

I’m not asking you to take sides, praise me but the way you fabricated, deceived, lied, invented … Every love story has its end and our love had to end at some moment. The relationship was turbulent … Unfortunately, the breakup came a year and a half or 2 ago. The time still isn’t right for that love or relationship to be restored and at this time I won’t be able to answer your questions.
