Belgrade to Conduct Nighttime Mosquito Spraying in Novi Beograd and Zemun

Belgrade authorities have announced a mosquito control operation scheduled for the night of August 5-6. The action will target specific locations in Novi Beograd and Zemun, employing both ground-based and water-based devices to combat the insect population.

The treatment area is extensive, encompassing numerous localities. In Novi Beograd, affected zones include SAJ, 13. maj, Goveđi brod, the embankment from Blok 45 towards Jakovo, Ušće, Blok 19a, Staro sajmište, Paviljoni, Retenzije, blocks 44, 45, 70, and 70A, Belvil, Blok 71, and Blok 72, as well as Studenski grad. The Zemun area covered includes Gornji grad, Donji grad, Kalvarija, Sava Kovačević, Sutjeska, Bački Ilovik, Nova Galenika, Ekonomija, and Belarica.

Residents are urged to facilitate the work of the teams from the "Gradska čistoća" (City Cleanliness) sector for ecology and environmental improvement. Beekeepers in the affected areas have been specifically advised to take measures to protect their bee colonies during the spraying operations.

The execution of the treatments is contingent upon favorable weather conditions. Specifically, the operation will proceed only if there is no rain, the temperature is optimal, and wind strength is within acceptable limits. The preparation used is registered with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and listed as a temporary biocidal product, with authorities assuring citizens that there is no cause for alarm regarding its use.
