Beloved ‘El Chavo del Ocho’ actress Rosita Bouchot reappears after hospitalization

Rosita Bouchot, remembered by generations of viewers as Paty in ‘El Chavo del Ocho,’ has reappeared after entering a medical center on Sept. 1, 2026. Her hospitalization surprised fans just two days after she celebrated her 75th birthday with family.

The actress confirmed that she underwent surgery and shared a photograph from her hospital bed. In the image, she wears a hospital gown and has an intravenous line in place, shortly before the procedure scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 1.

Bouchot gained international recognition through her appearances in ‘El Chavo del Ocho’ and ‘El Chapulín Colorado.’ She became the second actress to play Paty, after Patty Juárez, appearing in only two episodes in 1975 alongside her aunt Gloria in the storyline.

Her television work also included the role of the slave Artritis in an episode of ‘El Chapulín Colorado’ and appearances on ‘El Show de los Polivoces.’ She returned to television in 2006 in a special episode of Nickelodeon’s ‘Skimo,’ acting with María Antonieta de las Nieves. Over the decades, she also appeared in productions such as ‘Destilando amor’ and ‘La desalmada,’ as well as the film ‘Mecánica nacional.’
