Benengeli Festival Celebrates Sixth Edition Across 17 Cities

The Instituto Cervantes proudly presents the sixth edition of the Benengeli Festival, a unique global celebration of Spanish-language literature. This year, our reach expands to 17 cities across the five continents, solidifying its status as the sole international festival dedicated to literature in Spanish. From May 25th to 29th, readers and writers will connect through a vibrant program designed to showcase the current landscape of literary creation in our shared language.

This meeting consolidates itself as the only festival in Spanish that travels the five continents.

We are thrilled to host esteemed authors such as Lorenzo Silva, Yolanda Pantin, Leonardo Padura, Manuel Jabois, Nuria Barrios, Denise Despeyroux, and Sergio del Molino. Their participation underscores the richness and diversity of Hispanic letters. The festival's presence in cities like Sydney, Manila, Brussels, Oran, Dakar, Belo Horizonte, and New York, alongside invited hubs like Caguas, Caracas, Edinburgh, and Quito, demonstrates the global appeal and deep roots of Spanish literature.

For its scope, number of authors, and plurality, it represents a current snapshot of literature in Spanish that can be followed digitally and in person.

Curated by Fernando Iwasaki, this edition, themed around the relationship between literature and libraries, promises engaging discussions and multimedia content.
