Bennett meets 30 women's orgs. leaders, pledges policy overhaul for women ahead of elections

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met with 30 leaders of women's organizations on Sunday to develop the Together Party's policy platform concerning women's issues. Bennett announced the meeting on X/Twitter, stating that MK Meirav Cohen and Liran Avisar Ben Horin would spearhead the policy development.

Bennett strongly criticized the current government's approach to women's issues, labeling the past four years as "years of darkness and chaos." He asserted that the government's recent legislative actions had "deliberately harmed" women. Contrasting this with his own tenure, Bennett highlighted that his government had previously set a record for female representation in ministerial and director-general roles, calling the current situation a "low point."

He further cited a concerning statistic, noting that the number of women killed due to gender-based violence has reached a record high this year and is projected to double within two years. Bennett pledged that his party would implement firm and professional measures, utilizing state resources to combat violence against women. His commitments include repealing laws that discriminate against or exclude women, transforming early childhood education to alleviate the burden on mothers, and establishing a dedicated body to support reservists' families.
