Benue Police Commissioner Orders Enhanced Patrols for Eid El Kabir, Children's Day

The Commissioner of Police for Benue State, Nigeria, Ifeanyi Emenari, has mandated intensified security patrols across the state in anticipation of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations and Children's Day. The directive aims to ensure the safety of residents and visitors during the festive period, which typically involves large public gatherings.

Enhanced security measures will be implemented along major highways, at worship centers, recreational facilities, and other vulnerable points. The police command emphasized the importance of visibility policing to deter criminal activities and maintain public peace. This proactive approach is intended to provide a secure environment for families and communities celebrating the significant Islamic festival and the national holiday.

In addition to securing public spaces, the command has assured parents and guardians that adequate measures are in place to protect children participating in Children's Day activities. The police have issued a stern warning to criminal elements and hoodlums, stating that security agencies are fully prepared to respond decisively to any attempts to disrupt public order.

The public is advised to remain vigilant, report any suspicious movements or individuals to the nearest police station, and cooperate with the deployed security personnel. Eid-el-Kabir, also known as Eid al-Adha, is a major Islamic festival commemorating Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son, symbolizing faith, sacrifice, and charity through special prayers and the sharing of livestock.
