Benue to deliver one million votes for Tinubu in 2027, says Deputy Governor

Benue State is poised to deliver one million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election, according to Deputy Governor Samuel Ode. He assured that the administration led by Governor Father Hyacinth Alia would mobilize the state's Executive Council and citizens to achieve this electoral target.

Ode made this declaration while guiding members of the Presidential Communications Team, led by Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga, on a tour of infrastructure projects in Makurdi. Responding to a question about Benue's contribution in return for the President's development initiatives, Ode referenced a prior pronouncement by Governor Alia, confirming the one million vote commitment.

We already have a pronouncement that was done by the Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Father Alia. He made a pronouncement that Benue will deliver 1 million votes to Mr President.

"My responsibility as Deputy Governor is to make sure that I mobilize the Executive Council and the people of Benue State in their large numbers to actualize that promise that has been made by the governor," Ode stated.

He further credited the Tinubu administration's enhanced federation account allocations to states as the primary financial driver behind Benue's expanding infrastructure program. "That allocation, which has multiplied, is what we are utilizing for the benefit of the people of Benue State," Ode explained, highlighting the prudent use of these funds.

The Deputy Governor described the newly constructed High-Level Interchange in Makurdi as a key traffic hub connecting four major roads, including Remi Tinubu Road, which links to the Abuja-Enugu corridor. While declining to provide a specific cost for the ongoing project, he noted that Phase One of the interchange was nearing completion, according to the Director of Civil Engineering at the Benue State Ministry of Works.

That allocation, which has multiplied, is what we are utilising for the benefit of the people of Benue State. It is their commonwealth, and so we want them to see in real terms what development is. What you see here is a prudent utilisation of the funds which are coming from the federation account, which have increased since this government of Tinubu came into being.
