Berlin's Long Night of Museums Explores Crime

Berlin is set to host its annual Long Night of Museums, transforming the city into a hub for cultural exploration with a unique theme this year: crime. Attendees can immerse themselves in a variety of criminal cases, spanning historical mysteries to contemporary cybercrime.

The event offers access to 75 diverse venues, from the renowned museums on Museum Island to smaller, lesser-known establishments across the capital. A single ticket grants entry, allowing participants to navigate the city's rich cultural landscape between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Organizers recommend a focused approach, suggesting visitors select no more than four or five museums to fully appreciate the exhibits and avoid rushing. They emphasize the importance of allowing time for spontaneous discoveries and meaningful encounters with art and history.

Beyond the crime theme, the program includes engaging activities like swing dancing and karaoke. The event's website provides curated route suggestions, highlighting themes such as Berlin in the 1920s, queer history, and notable female artists. A "Museo-Mat" tool is also available to help visitors plan their personalized museum journey.

Tickets are priced at 23 euros, with a reduced rate of 17 euros for concessions. Children under 12 enter for free. Shuttle buses will be available to facilitate travel between venues, making the extensive program more accessible. Last year's event was themed around love.
