Best is yet to come, Sanwo-Olu tells Lagosians on seventh anniversary

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured residents that his administration is poised for further progress, declaring that "the best is yet to come" as he marked his seventh anniversary in office. Sanwo-Olu reiterated his commitment to intensifying efforts in key areas, including infrastructure development, housing provision, healthcare services, and security enhancement across the state.

In a statement issued on Friday, the governor reflected on the administration's journey since assuming office in 2019. He pledged that his government would not become complacent, promising continued focus on delivering quality roads, affordable housing, reliable healthcare, world-class education, and a secure environment conducive to business growth. Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude to the people of Lagos for their unwavering support and patience over the years, characterizing the administration's tenure as one built on "shared sacrifice, resilience, and collective progress."

As we mark this seventh anniversary, I want to assure Lagosians that the best is yet to come. We will not rest on our oars. We will do more in providing quality roads, affordable housing, reliable healthcare, world-class education, and a secure environment where businesses can thrive.

Sanwo-Olu highlighted that the administration's vision, set seven years ago, was to build a "Greater Lagos that works for all." He credited the residents' trust, patience, and partnership as the foundation for every milestone achieved, citing improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, education reforms, urban mass transport, youth empowerment, and urban renewal projects across the state's five divisions.

Despite global economic challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the governor noted that the administration remained focused on its THEMES+ Agenda. He also acknowledged the support from President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which has bolstered Lagos State's progress in various sectors. Sanwo-Olu mentioned that the administration has presented its scorecard through ministerial press briefings and urged continued support for government policies, encouraging collaboration with private sector players and development partners for sustainable initiatives.
