Beymen Club Sailing Team Takes Second Place at 55th Naval Forces Cup

The Beymen Club Sailing Team achieved a significant victory, securing the second-place trophy in the overall standings at the 55th Deniz Kuvvetleri Kupası, one of Turkey's most established and prestigious yacht races. Organized by the Turkish Offshore Racing Club (TAYK), the event drew 32 elite boats, including eight international entries.

Navigating the competitive IRC 1 class, which featured 12 boats, the Beymen Club Sailing Team delivered a strong performance throughout the race. The competition was fierce, with the team ultimately finishing with the same points as the first-place winner, Flyer. However, due to tie-breaking rules based on average scores, the Beymen Club Sailing Team was awarded second place overall.

The race presented considerable challenges, particularly during its first leg from Istanbul to Bozcaada. Unpredictable winds and calm conditions tested the crews' strategic and physical limits, causing the lead to change hands multiple times. The Beymen Club Sailing Team completed this demanding leg in third place within their class, securing their initial podium position.

The second leg, from Bozcaada to Çeşme, brought a dramatic shift with strong squalls reaching speeds of up to 55 km/h. Despite these harsh conditions, the Beymen Club Sailing Team maintained a consistent performance, earning another podium finish. Captain Ahmet Köroğlu praised his team's resilience and competitive spirit. "We competed against very strong local and foreign teams," Köroğlu stated. "The changing winners in every leg clearly showed the quality of the race and the high level of competition. I thank my entire team and our brand for their support through this challenging race with completely opposite weather conditions.
