Bhat pays tribute to martyrs and veterans on Defence Day

Altaf Ahmed Bhat, a senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader and chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement, paid tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs, veterans and armed forces on Defence Day.

Bhat said September 6 represented courage, sacrifice, faith and national unity. He said Pakistan’s people had consistently stood firm whenever the country faced aggression or a threat.

He described the sacrifices of the martyrs and veterans of 1965 as an enduring source of inspiration. Their example, he said, reminded the nation that freedom, sovereignty and dignity depended on courage, discipline and unwavering commitment.

“ The martyrs of 1965 wrote a golden chapter of bravery with their blood. Their sacrifice was not for one generation alone, but for the honour, security, and future of Pakistan,” Bhat said. He added that Defence Day served not only as a date in history, but also as a solemn reminder of the spirit that united the nation behind its armed forces.
