Biden slams Trump as 'loser,' alleges unprecedented corruption

Former U.S. President Joe Biden launched a scathing attack on his successor, Donald Trump, labeling him a "loser" and alleging a scale of corruption unseen in American history.

Speaking at a Democratic Party fundraiser, Biden detailed several of Trump's initiatives, including attempts to renovate the White House East Wing, add his name to the Kennedy Center, and a costly refurbishment of the Lincoln Memorial's reflecting pool. Biden characterized these as examples of Trump's incompetence, vanity, and alleged corruption.

Biden specifically pointed to a $1.7 million no-bid contract awarded for the reflecting pool's filtration system to a Trump donor and neighbor of Mar-a-Lago. He described this as "brazen, unadulterated corruption" and stated that the scale of graft under Trump's administration was unprecedented.

Furthermore, Biden accused Trump of intentionally damaging NATO and weakening America's global position, particularly in light of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and tensions involving Iran. The remarks come two years after a contentious presidential debate between Biden and Trump, following which Biden withdrew from the 2024 election and Trump ultimately won a second term.
