Bigbank/Kalev replace foreign guard with American point guard Jacob Falko

Bigbank/Kalev have signed American point guard Jacob Falko after Kasen Harrison chose not to continue with the club following a health issue found during a medical examination in Estonia.

Because many players were assessed during the summer, we first looked at the players who had attracted interest but were not selected for various reasons. We saw that Jakob was still without a club and, in terms of his profile, was exactly what we believed the team lacked.

Falko is 25 years old and stands 190 centimeters tall. He played college basketball from 2020 to 2023 before signing his first professional contract with Icelandic top-flight club IR Reykjavik for the 2024/25 season. He remained with the same team last season.

In 22 regular-season games last year, Falko averaged 36 minutes, 22.2 points, 7.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game. Kalev coach Brett Nõmme said the club needed a new guard after Harrison’s departure and believed Falko offered the type of player the roster lacked.

He is a physically strong guard who can finish effectively near the basket and draw fouls. He also sees the court well and can create good shooting opportunities for other players.

Bigbank/Kalev are scheduled to play their first preseason game against Keila KK on September 9 at Keila Health Center.
