BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Unveils Otherworldly Visuals for New Single ‘Earthquake’

Jisoo’s new solo concept drops her into a world of machines, shadows and a teddy bear-shaped robot. The BLACKPINK singer’s teaser images present an intentionally unreal setting for her upcoming single, ‘Earthquake.’

Her agency, Blissoo, said it released teaser and cover images through Jisoo’s official social media accounts on the 28th and 31st of last month. The images show Jisoo standing among mechanical devices and holding the robot bear. Dark tones and industrial props give the concept a hybrid feel, as if reality and virtual space are overlapping.

The music video comes from Korean American director Joseph Kahn. His previous music-video credits include work for Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Eminem and Lady Gaga, adding an internationally familiar name to Jisoo’s latest visual project.

‘Earthquake’ will be released on music platforms at 1 p.m. on the 4th. It marks Jisoo’s first new song in about 11 months, following ‘Eyes Closed,’ her collaboration with ZAYN released last October.

Jisoo debuted with BLACKPINK in 2016 and has since taken part in hits including ‘Whistle,’ ‘Playing with Fire,’ ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU,’ ‘Kill This Love,’ ‘How You Like That’ and ‘Pink Venom.’ She began her solo career in 2023 and also continues to work as an actress.
