Blanco y Negro President Mosa Irked by Chile's Complaint Against Correa

Aníbal Mosa, president of Blanco y Negro, voiced frustration over Universidad de Chile's complaint against forward Javier Correa for his gestures following the Superclásico. Mosa asserted that the rival club "must accept their defeats."

"Things that happen, these kinds of celebrations, should stay on the field. It was a surprise that this discussion was taken off the field," Mosa stated at the Estadio Nacional after his team's victory over Unión Española in the Copa Chile. He recalled an incident at the Monumental where Marcelo Díaz made a similar gesture, but Colo Colo chose not to file a complaint.

"Every time we have lost to Universidad de Chile, we have left quietly, we have accepted defeat, and in a way, the game is over, we already won it and it should stay there," Mosa explained. He added that the club could have also filed a complaint against Díaz for a photo with a banner against Colo Colo, but they believe such activities are decided "in the 90 or 100 minutes."

Mosa insisted that gestures like Correa's "are part of football's folklore." He pointed to the Superclásico match where his team played against 47,000 opposing fans who cursed them throughout the game. "But we understand that it is part of the activity and the spectacle," he said.

"So, the truth is, we are disappointed, because an institution like Universidad de Chile must accept its defeats when they are on the field," Mosa declared. He also outlined the defense strategy for Correa, noting that the gesture occurred 20 minutes after the match ended and was directed at their own camera. "We are going to prepare the arguments and the defense for next Tuesday," he concluded.
