Blood Reserves Critically Low in Serbia; Institute Appeals for Donors

Blood reserves in Serbia have reached critically low levels, prompting an urgent appeal from the Institute for Blood Transfusion of Serbia for citizens to donate blood. The institute highlighted the severe shortage and called for widespread participation in voluntary blood donation drives.

Several donation opportunities are available to the public this week. On Thursday, August 5, citizens can donate blood at the Cultural Center in Lazarevac from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The following day, August 6, donation points will be set up at the Red Cross in Obrenovac from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a mobile transfusion unit will be stationed in front of the Zvezdara Municipal Assembly from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Donation activities will continue on Friday and Saturday at the Media Center of the "Rajko Mitić" stadium, where individuals can donate between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. On Saturday, a mobile transfusion unit will be located outside the "Big Fashion" shopping center in Palilula from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The campaign concludes on Sunday with a mobile unit at the "Stop Shop" shopping center in Borča during the same hours.
