Boca vs. Vélez: Vélez leads 1-0 after Valdes free-kick, Paredes denies second goal

The Clausura tournament match between Boca Juniors and Vélez Sarsfield is underway at the Tomás Adolfo Ducó stadium. The game kicked off with Boca showing early attacking intent, establishing themselves in Vélez's territory. Midfielder Milton Delgado had an early chance, hitting the post with a shot after a cross from Ascacibar.

However, it was Vélez who opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Chilean player Valdes scored a spectacular free-kick, placing the ball past Boca goalkeeper Álvaro Montero, who appeared to misjudge the flight of the ball and set up the wall incorrectly. The goal put Vélez ahead 1-0.

Boca's captain, Leandro Paredes, then made a vital intervention in the 15th minute. After Vélez recovered the ball and launched a quick counter-attack, Aliendro found himself one-on-one with Montero. Paredes tracked back and managed to clear the ball as it was heading towards the goal, preventing Vélez from doubling their lead and keeping Boca in the game.
